What is Family Therapy
Family Therapy is a systems-based interactionally-focused treatment modality. It is the system, not the individual, that must be the target of intervention for the family therapist, acknowledging thereby the importance of context and interconnectedness of behaviour. Family therapy is relevant to the Indian context where the task of finding autonomy within connectedness is a persistent challenge.
